I am pleased to announce the next program as part of our continuous efforts to provide educational content for our section members.  If you are interested in knowing more about MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) in the context of Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing, please attend and use this opportunity to learn from our speaker Mr. Sam Russem.
    Presentation brief:

In this presentation, we’ll explore the role of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) in the context of Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing. While MES can mean different things to different industries; at its core, MES connects IT systems like ERP with OT systems on the plant floor like SCADA and PLCs. Smart Manufacturing implementations often challenge the IT/OT divide, so we will be discussing the difficulties and solutions for integrating these traditionally separate domains. We’ll touch on how Smart Manufacturing initiatives like MES open the door for advanced analytics and AI. Finally, we’ll discuss how successful MES deployment relies on adoption, change management, and an integrated approach involving stakeholders from manufacturing, IT, and operations.
    Speaker Bio:

Sam Russem has over 15 years of experience specializing in the design, development, and deployment of Smart Manufacturing solutions.
