    January Meeting Announcement

    You do not want to miss this exciting meeting presentation that is set to kick off 2024.  This session will be led by our own Patrick Joseph, treasurer of the ISA Birmingham Section and will cover a topic of interest to all of us.  There will be Professional Development (PDH) credit for this meeting, so spread the word to all who may need documentation for continuing education credit.

    Topic:  “Hydro Power Production – Now and in the Future”

    The presentation will contain an overview of Hydro Electric Power Production as it is today, with a look at what the future holds.  There is currently a nationwide charge to update and modernize aging Hydro Plants to support a growing base of clean, alternative energy such as Solar and Wind, and to also provide a more secure base of power generation. Hydro Power is one of the few types of Utility Power that is Clean, efficient, and always ready to go.

     

    Patrick Joseph

    With more than 36 years of Industrial Automation Experience, Patrick Joseph has held many Engineering and Engineering Management positions in various industries.  He started his career at US Pipe in the Ductile Iron Pipe Foundry as an Automation Engineer and eventually landed at Southern Company in 2009.

    At Southern Company, he has been involved in Pollution Reduction Projects including Scrubbers and Toxic Chemical collection, multitudes of Automation Projects, and currently has been supporting Georgia Power in Hydro Energy Production.

    Patrick holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UAB with a specialty in Industrial Automation
