The International Society of Automation (ISA) CCOEW
Chapter orchestrated a remarkable Student-Led Conference themed "FutureForge:
Automation for Tomorrow" on February 23, 2024, at the Mechanical building
Auditorium, MKSSS's Cummins College of Engineering for Women Pune. The event,
designed to fuel innovation and excellence in the automation domain, featured a
compelling poster competition highlighting projects on Industrial IoT, Robotics and AI,
Control Systems, Machine Design, Smart Manufacturing, Machine Monitoring, and
Predictive Maintenance.
The conference commenced with a grand inauguration and welcoming speech.
Distinguished guests, including esteemed speakers and industry leaders,
participated in the ceremonial lamp lighting. Notably, the IoT-based lamp was a
creation of Dr. Atul Joshi, an esteemed faculty member of the Instrumentation and
Control Department at Cummins College.
The keynote session, "Digital Transformation – Automating the Future" by Mr.
Somnath Chakraborty, set the tone for the day, providing valuable insights into the
future of automation. Following this, engaging sessions unfolded, each initiated by
the respective speakers who expounded on their designated topics.
The first session delved into Sustainability, with Mr. Ajay Phatak sharing expertise
and perspectives on the subject. Subsequently, Ms. Sujata Tilak led Session-2,
shedding light on the pivotal role of Digital Engineers in the landscape of Industry
4.0. The conference seamlessly integrated networking opportunities, allowing
participants to engage in automation games and witness product demonstrations by
industry-leading companies such as Electronet Equipments Pvt Ltd. and Wyzbo
Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
An essential highlight was the Poster Presentation segment, where winning entries
were unveiled in which the top three teams were recognized: 1st Place went to
Anisha Jain & Team from MKSSS'S Cummins College of Engineering for Women,
Pune; 2nd Place to Sharvari Hinge & Team from Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of
Technology Pimpri, Pune; and 3rd Place to Rucha Darshane & Team from MKSSS'S
Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Pune. and participants had the chance
to interact with industry professionals.
A case study on Software Automation through RPA & Intelligent
Automation, presented by Mr. Kirtikumar Dhruv, added a practical dimension to the
conference. This was followed by a session on Cyber Security: Context & Career,
delivered by Mr. Sandeep Kulkarni, providing valuable insights into the crucial aspect
of security in automation.
The Open Forum, moderated by Mr. Vijay Kartik, Mr. Gurmeet Anand, Mr. H. S.
Pansare, Mr. Karam Rehani, and Mr. N. Bedarkar, explored challenges and
opportunities in automation careers, providing a platform for insightful discussions.
The day concluded with a Vote of Thanks and Concluding Remarks by Ms. Siddhi
Nirgude, the President of ISA CCOEW.
The hosting duties were skillfully handled by Ms. Rhitika Sharma and Ms. Anwesha
Sen, adding a vibrant and engaging element to the entire conference. The success
of the event was a testament to the meticulous planning of the organizing committee,
the active participation of attendees, and the dedication of volunteers. ISA CCOEW
looks forward to building on this success in future endeavors, continuing to champion
excellence.
