Welcome to the British Columbia Section!

The British Columbia International Society of Automation (ISA BC) is a non-profit organization that provides educational and networking opportunities for automation professionals in British Columbia, Canada. 

ISA BC hosts events and seminars to provide its members with access to the latest knowledge and best practices in automation. The organization also provides opportunities for members to network with other professionals and exchange ideas, which can help advance their careers. In addition, ISA BC collaborates with local universities, colleges, and organizations to provide students with access to information and resources that can help prepare them for careers in automation.

ISA BC is open to anyone who is interested in automation, including engineers, technicians, students, and other professionals. Membership provides access to a variety of benefits, including discounts on events and training courses, access to a network of automation professionals, and opportunities to participate in local and global automation projects.

  • Apply Now for ISA BC Section President – 2025–2026 Term!

    This is a great opportunity to take on a leadership role within the automation community as the next Section President for the 2025–2026 term. Applications are closing soon, so if you’re interested in contributing and shaping the direction of ISA BC, now is the time to apply.

    Key Dates to Remember

    ·         Deadline to Apply: June 30th, 2025

    ·         Election: July 15th, 2025

    ·         Term Begins: September 1, 2025

    What Does the Section President Do?

    As Section President, you’ll be the chief elected officer, leading the operations of the ISA BC Section and ensuring that the interests of local members are always front and center.

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 2–4 hours per week.

    Key Responsibilities

    ·         Preside over annual, monthly, and special meetings, plus Section Executive Board meetings

    ·         Appoint committee chairs and delegate duties

    ·         Collaborate with officers to assess member needs and shape activities

    ·         Ensure proper execution of board decisions

    ·         Report to members on updates from ISA Society or District Delegate

    ·         Fulfill obligations to ISA headquarters (e.g., annual reports, leadership roster)

    ·         Represent the Section at ISA leadership conferences

    ·         Work with the Treasurer to develop a budget for Board review and approval

    ·         Initiate year-end audit procedures for financial record turnover

    ·         Transfer all records to your successor at the end of your term

    Eligibility – Are You the Perfect Fit?

    ·         Must be a current ISA member in good standing

    ·         Must reside in British Columbia (metro Vancouver availability for in-person meetings is a bonus!)

    ·         Leadership or volunteer experience with ISA or similar organizations is a plus
