ISA Sarnia Section – President’s Message

    May 2021

    Hello Everyone,

Let me start off by saying thanks to all of you for continuing to support our section. These are troubled times, but we will find a way to work through them. I hope that this message finds you all safe.

We have had to cancel our golf tournament due to the COVID-19 protocols and we are planning to convene a virtual Annual General Meeting. All of you will receive an invitation via our e-News announcements. Please attend if you can. Our AGM will be held on Monday – May 31st as if we were normally meeting. We’ll be sending out the invitation and additional information soon.

We will be having another virtual District 13 District Leadership Conference as we did last year. Still no let up on our COVID-19 protocols.

So far we have had virtual executive meetings and selected a vice president to take over for me in July (as I believe that it is time for me to back out a little). So the next president will be Kalpen Vachharajani and we have volunteers to progress past Kalpen. This will give us a presidential chain going forward.

Take note we have volunteers for the presidential chain and now we require more volunteers for some of the remaining committees. Take a look and see if you can find the time to volunteer and assist us. It is not burdensome and we attempt to make all that we do short and timely. Please give it some thought. We need more faces and different skills and ideas.

On two positive notes we did roll out our 23rd edition of our ISA Sarnia Section Reference Guide to the Measurement & Control Market for 2021 and we also supported the four scholarships for the Lambton College students.

We work diligently to keep our website up to date so jump in and look at www.isasarnia.com and let us know what you think.

It should be noted that ISA upgraded their website (www.isa.org) and it looks good and works well. Log in a take a look and if you see or have any issues please forward your concerns. ISA member services have also released “ISA Connect” for the use of all members and their communities. As everyone was sent an email invitation, please log in at your leisure and peruse the content.

If you have any comments or concerns, please let your Executive know. Remember any unspoken ideas or concerns are wasted thoughts unless we share them and act on them.

Again, I intend to keep you all informed as to what we are still doing or not doing as we step through this COVID-19 pandemic that still has us in its grip. Be safe and continue to adhere to our COVID-19 guidelines.

    Regards,

    Mike Murray
