 The ISA Birmingham Section will not have a regular technical meeting in February. Instead, the focus for the month will be on the Annual Awards Banquet conducted by the Engineering Council of Birmingham (ECOB) as part of the celebration of National Engineer’s Week (February 22 – 28,, 2026. This event will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM Social and dinner at 6:00 PM at the Harbert Center, 2019 4th Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203, Beeson Hall, in Birmingham.
The recognition of the ISA Birmingham Section Awardees will be announced along with the honorees from the other participating technical societies.
- Engineer of the Year: Jason Leeper – Revere Control Systems
- Young Engineer of the Year: David Harris – Revere Control Systems
- Gerney Mitchell Outstanding Service Award: Chuck Jones – Process Valve & Instruments
Everyone is invited to attend and take part in the festivities, food, and fellowship of National Engineer’s Week. The ticket cost is $60 for adults, and $40 for students, and you may make a reservation through ISA Birmingham Section by contacting Patrick Joseph at pvjoseph@southernco.com, and sending a check, payable to ISA Birmingham Section to Patrick Joseph, 1000 Fairfield Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242.
The Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the engineering profession within the State of Alabama. For 2025, the Leadership Award goes to Ralph Hargrove, founder of Hargrove Engineers out of Mobile. The recipient of the Leadership Award delivers the keynote address. The outstanding students at UAB and Alabama will be recognized and the local scholarship winners will be introduced.
