Join presenter Shane Filer of Neal Systems Inc (NSI), as he presents
Industrial Wireless Systems for process applications – which have been a point of contention since they first started becoming popular in the 1990’s. Sometimes they work amazingly well, and other times they are miserable failures. It has certainly left a lot of distrust with many companies. Yet no one in our industry questions whether we SHOULD use wireless tech (since we all use cell phones and have wireless routers in our homes) – we instead question whether it will actually work for our specific application, and whether vendor promises live up to the hype. This session will delve into the following:
• Basic wireless principles for the various types of industrial radio solutions
• Overview of various protocols that are utilized
• Newer wireless options for the 21st century
• Practical tips on best practices for successfully commissioning and maintaining industrial
wireless systems.
Our presentation will begin at 11:30 and end at 12:30. The speaker will be available from 12:30 to 1:00 pm for a question-and-answer session.
