  • February Program Announcement - ENERGY CONSERVATION PT 2 - STREAMLINED PNEUMATIC ASSESSMENTS

    Please join us for our next program! Scheduled for Feb 26th at 12:00 PM CST. This is part 2 in our 4 part "Energy Conservation" web series. For part 1 last month, we focused on Steam. If you missed that one, you can check out the recorded session on our YouTube channel - link here: Jan 2021 Program - Energy Conservation Pt. 1: Steam For this month's meeting, the focus will be on Air. The aim will be to educate participants on how to identify areas in a facility where there is an opportunity for air savings. We will cover some of the information you need to know before starting, some of the tools needed, and the air saving solutions available. A heavy focus will be on low-cost opportunities that are easy to implement yet have an immediate impact to overall energy savings.

    Our presenters this month are; Johannes de Jager and Jon Jensen of SMC Corp of America. Johannes de Jager is an Industry specialist under Jon Jensen in the Energy Conservation Department at SMC Corporation of America. He started his career working for a SMC distributor in South Africa from 1997 until 2007, focusing on automotive manufacturing projects. He returned to SMC in 2017. Currently he performs energy assessments at manufacturing facilities across North America and provides solutions on how these facilities can save on their compressed air consumption.

    Jon Jenson is the Energy Conservation Group Manager for SMC Corporation of America. He provides consulting services on energy conservation in pneumatic systems. He is a Certified Machinery Safety Expert (TUV NORD) and also manages machinery safety products for SMC Corporation of America. He is a past president of the International Fluid Power Society, an Accredited Instructor, and holds Pneumatic Specialist and Electronic Controls Specialist Certifications. Prior to the Energy Conservation Group, Jon served for nearly 10 years as SMC’s North American Training Manager.
