The SNAD is creating a discussion thread for 2025 on the topic of "Section Health".  We will use this discussion thread to post Section Health tips.  As leaders, feel free to respond to this discussion with your own best practices to share with other sections.  You can also use this thread to ask questions or seek advice.

The topic again is "Section Health", but health also starts with meeting the minimum requirements to be a section.  We present these below:

All section leaders should understand the basic requirements from ISA to remain in good standing and receive rebates.

Here are the requirements for a Professional Section to remain in Good Standing:

    • Maintain at least 30 professional members
    • Have, at a minimum, a president and treasurer in good standing and on record with ISA Headquarters
    • Hold a minimum of three member meetings each year
    • Submit an annual report by the prescribed dates (July 31)
    • Include "About us" text in HTML area on section page in ISA Connect
    • Have current section bylaws posted in section file library in ISA Connect
    • Comply with ISA policies

Here is the link to policy on establishing and maintaining sections from isa.org:

Great summary Dean! A specific reminder I want to point out is make sure you hold your elections in time to submit your new Leadership Form AND have it processed prior to your current terms ending! It's gotten my Section and plenty of others before. Not only does this lapse cause you to loose access to Connect, it can also cause you to be ineligible for your rebate.
