  • 1.  ISA 101 - What every leader should know

    All section leaders should understand the basic requirements from ISA to remain in good standing and receive rebates.

    Here are the requirements for a Professional Section to remain in Good Standing:

    • Maintain at least 30 professional members
    • Have, at a minimum, a president and treasurer in good standing and on record with ISA Headquarters
    • Hold a minimum of three member meetings each year
    • Submit an annual report by the prescribed dates (July 31)
    • Include "About us" text in HTML area on section page in ISA Connect
    • Have current section bylaws posted in section file library in ISA Connect
    • Comply with ISA policies

    Here are the requirements for a Student Section to remain in Good Standing:
    • Maintain at least 14 student members
    • Have, at a minimum, a faculty advisor, president, and treasurer in good standing and on record with ISA Headquarters
    • Hold a minimum of three member meetings each year; student section member participation in local section meetings or events qualifies as a member meeting for the student section
    • Submit an annual report by the prescribed dates (May 31)
    • Comply with ISA policies

    Have you looked at your bylaws lately?  If you have old bylaws, you may be tying your hands behind your back.  Simple is better.  Take a look at these great templates you can use and adopt as your own.  Use as-is or tweak them to your liking.
