Please join us for our upcoming ISA Rochester Section online program: "Effective HMI's; Using the ANSI/ISA 101 Standard and More" on Tuesday May 10 at 12:00 Noon.
This month's presentation will focus on the ANSI/ISA 101.01 Standard "Human Machine Interfaces for the Process Industries". The objective of the Standard is to enable implementation of HMI's that are more effective in supporting the production, quality, reliability, and safety goals of the processes being managed. We will review the approach taken by the Standard including the terminology and models to develop an HMI and the work processes recommended to effectively maintain the HMI throughout its life cycle.
Register here.
Keys points to address for any HMI will be highlighted, including HMI System Management, Human Factors, Display Styles and HMI Structure, User Interaction, Performance, and Training.
Following the discussion, there will be time for sharing your questions, experience, and challenges. Our presenter will be Dawn Schweitzer, Sr. Control System Engineer in the Advanced Chemicals and Materials division of Kodak. Dawn brings experience as an end user as well as a vendor. She is an ISA Life member, recipient of the 2021 ISA Excellence in Society Service Award, and clause editor and voting member of the ISA 101.01 HMI standard. She has held many ISA positions at the Section, District, Department, and Society level, and is currently back 'home' as Treasurer of the Rochester ISA Section. Steve Sosik of Process-Logic LLC will join Dawn in the discussion to answer your questions and share some good and bad HMI experiences.
