Abstract:
There are several initiatives underway by various industry consortia to increase the flexibility while also reducing the dependency of control systems on proprietary technologies.
This presentation will summarize some of player and their initiatives, their goals, how they have impacted the technology path of major control system suppliers already, the limitations of these ideals, and how they could further impact future control systems.
