Hello all,
Exciting news!!! ISA will be developing a new Automation Project Management (APM) Certificate Program to provide a third party validation of the level of competency for automation project managers. This certificate program will include a new training course and certificate exam. Those who pass the certificate exam will be provided with a digital badge and certificate from ISA reflecting their accomplishment. ISA is in need of volunteers who are experienced in the area of automation project management to help in developing questions for the exam that candidates will have to pass to earn the certificate. The purpose of this email is to invite you to participate in this activity based on your experience and interest in the area of APM.
So how can you volunteer to participate in this effort and what would be required of you?
When you volunteer to participate you will first be given training on how to write good exam questions, including practice time via a two hour webinar? This session will be conducted in early November.
After the training you will be given access to an online App that you will be provided to you for use in writing a certain number of questions in specific categories remotely. You will also be provided with the source material that will be used as the basis for your questions. Your question writing will be done over the course of approximately one month based on when you have time in your schedule to work on this project. You will also have the opportunity to review and comment on questions written by other volunteers during this time. There will be two virtual meetings held 2-3 weeks apart that will involve reviewing some of the newly-submitted questions and get additional guided practice.
ISA could really use your help and you would have the opportunity to share your expertise in the development of a program that will benefit others in your profession. This is a volunteer effort but you can track your time spent on this project and ISA will issue Professional Development Hours (PDHs) certificates to you at the conclusion.
To volunteer please send an email to Thyron Williams at twilliams@isa.org indicating that you would like to participate in this activity. You will then be give instructions and more specifics. We will need your response by COB November 6, 2020. There is a limit on the number of volunteers we will need so please reply as soon as possible to guarantee your participation.
