Topics include: General substation components, network topologies, media, and protocols, RTU, PLC, and IO applications in substations, and relay protection functions and integration.
Mr. Tilley graduated from Perry Technical Institute with a degree in Instrumentation and Industrial Automation in 2010, as well as an associate degree in Information Technology. He has worked in PLC and SCADA integration for 11 years, the last 5 years in the electric utility SCADA field as a SCADA Technician at Portland General Electric. He has developed and commissioned RTU, PLC, and HMI programs for transmission and distribution substations, Automated Generation Controllers, Distribution Automation schemes, as well as set up and maintain Remote Access and automated event polling.
