Title:  “Functional Safety in Process and Machinery – Engineering Practices & Updates”

 

Abstract:

Engineering safety controls and systems involves measuring risk, planning mitigation strategies, verifying & validating the results, and on-going lifecycle management.  Understanding and applying the right standards and practices while balancing risk, economic and technological feasibility constraints are among the engineer’s challenges.  This discussion will provide an update and map for navigating this subject and achieving the right outcomes.

Eric Bombere is a Solutions Consultant for Rockwell Automation based in Dallas with over 30 years experience in automation & controls.  His work has included field and applications engineering, business development and automation consulting in a range of industries from chemicals, semiconductor, automotive, and food & beverage.  Eric is a certified Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland - Machinery) and has completed Burner Management / SIS specific industry training (aeSolutions).
