Speaker bio: Michael has 15 years of experience in a wide array of process safety applications, ranging from hazard review facilitation & layer of protection analysis to safety instrumented systems and relief & flare system design. Presently he works as a Principal process safety engineer at Air Products. Before relocating to the Lehigh Valley in 2022, Michael worked out of ioMosaic’s Houston, TX, office as a petrochemical industry process safety consultant with an international portfolio. During his time with ioMosaic, he resided for 6 years in Bahrain representing the home office, training/mentoring new staff, and serving as technical lead during the successful start-up and establishment of a new office. He holds a BSChE from Texas A&M University.
Topic: Hydrogen: Clearing Up Misconceptions About Safety and Proper Approaches to Addressing Its Risks
Beginning with a brief overview of Hydrogen refueling, we will look into hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles, and the operating parameters and safety aspects of a typical Hydrogen refueling station. We will then dive into some of the safety design challenges presented by hydrogen refueling development and general considerations to overcome these challenges.
